Building Notice

Dear residents,

A number of units have been reporting that their units are unusually cold and that, in some units, air is blowing in through their range hood. We have identified two potential contributors:

  1. Our rooftop Makeup Air Unit (MAU) has failed and is no longer running. That means we no longer have any heated fresh air or positive air flow from the hallways into our suites. In fact, the opposite can occur, with outside air now being sucked in through our vents. Unfortunately, delivery of a new MAU is not expected before February.
  2. Our range hoods are equipped with a butterfly valve to prevent air backflow. As recommended in the past, these should be checked annually to make sure they are operating properly. They can fail over time or can get stuck open (or closed) by grease buildup.

Please refer to the document posted in PacPoint2.ca (pacpoint2.ca/2021/04/07/condensation-maintenance/) for details of how to check the butterfly valve in your range hood, as well as how to maintain other items that can contribute to high humidity levels. If you do not want to do this yourself, or are unable, you can contact Cityscape Maintenance Services (Tony Dohaniuk) at (778) 385-1976.
