It is possible that people who own an Amana, JennAir, KitchenAid, Maytag, or Whirlpool refrigerator might experience defrost water not draining. This might cause ice build-up in the freezer bottom. Depending on circumstances, water leakage to the outside of the refrigerator might also occur.
If the cause of the issue is determined to be a clogged duckbill drain tube, a free part replacement might be available. More information is available in the attached document.
Has anyone been able to follow up on this issue and get the replacement part from the manufacturer? I called Coast Appliances who supplied our kitchen appliances, and they are unaware of any issues with my refrigerator model, and appear very uninterested in being involved in locating the replacement part.

We had booked a repair thru KitchenAid Customer Experience Center at 1-800-807-6777 back in 2018. Don’t know if that number still works, but the repair was done by PLATINUM APPLIANCE SERVICE INC. They were very good and had made the same repair to a number of other units in the building. Part was free, and they only charged us for labour. I would recommend them.

Tony actually fixed mine a couple of years ago. My issue was that the gromit needed to be replaced. Not sure if yours is the same issue.
